Frances "Fran" E. Nelson

Frances Edna Lee, 89, of Mason City Ia. died peacefully Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa surrounded by her loved ones. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Inurnment will take place in Oklahoma at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Frances Nelson memorial fund in care of the family. O

Frances Edna Lee was born April 17th, 1927, in Lone Wolf, OK, daughter of Charles and Virgie Lee. She attended school in Lone Wolf. She and her mother moved to Long Beach California, after her father passed away, and met her first husband Samuel Mallos. She is survived by four children, Linda Holman and husband Dan Holman, from Mankato Mn. Nick Mallos and wife Christine Mallos of Blythewood SC. Charles Mallos of Jascksonville Fla. Clifford Nelson and wife Katy Nelson of Austin Texas. 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many cousins in Oaklahoma. She and her son Clifford moved to Mason City Iowa, to be close to her daughter in the late seventies, where she found employment and eventually retired at Minnesota Rubber. Fran was very involved at Open Bible Church in Mason City, and Agape Church, in Clear Lake. She volunteered as a foster grandparent at Roosevelt Elementary School and worked many hours on the Suicide Hot Line developed by her church members.

Here greatest joy in life were being a part of her children, and great grandchildren's lives, was able to attend graduation parties, birthday parties, holidays, 4 weddings and be a part of the birth of many of her grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and served in many ministries at her church. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Samuel Mallos, second husband Bill Nelson, her sister Mattie Lee Christee, her husband Emory Christee.
