Freda J. Davis

Freda J. Davis, 92, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota formerly of Mason City, died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Prince of Peace Nursing Home, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Jim Stiles, First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Freda J. Davis Memorial Fund. Freda was born September 19, 1913 in Bassett, Iowa the daughter of Carl H. and Louie (Chestek) Ebert. She attended school in Rudd, Iowa. Freda married James B. Davis May 28, 1938 in rural Osage, Iowa. They moved to Mason City in 1938. Freda enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. Freda is survived by a son, Jay P. Davis and wife Dena of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter, Diane M. Davis of Roland, Iowa; grandchildren, Eric Davis of Winona, Minnesota, Landon Davis of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Derek Davis of Mitchell, South Dakota, Julie Davis of Ames, Iowa, Ryan Davis of Ames, Iowa. Freda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James; sister, Doris Olson.
