George Littleton Jr.

George Littleton Jr., 86, of Colorado Springs, CO, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. A Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 PM Friday (November 5, 2010) at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams with Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery with Veterans Honors by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the George Littleton Jr. Memorial Fund.
George was born October 8, 1924 in Harlan, Iowa the son of George M. and Mata (Anderson) Littleton. He married Ollie Howell in Omaha, Nebraska. He entered into the Navy and served in WWII from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He worked at Armour Foods as a Mechanical Foreman for 42 years until his retirement in 1995. George loved golfing and tinkering in his shop at home. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. George like spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. George was a member of the V.F.W. and Veterans Memorial Association and also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
George is survived by his 7 children, David Littleton and wife Diane of Denver, CO, Jeffrey Littleton wife Laura of Eagan, MN, Donald Littleton and wife Brandi of Outing, MN, Douglas Littleton and wife Laura Lea of Newfoundland, PA, Jay Littleton and wife Diane of Colorado Springs, CO, Lisa Chavez of Indianola, IA and Lori Cooling of Colorado Springs, CO; 20 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Jeanne Hoffmann.
George is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ollie in 2009 and daughter, Julie Stromley.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the George Littleton Jr. Memorial Fund.
