Gerald L. Booth Sr., 81, long-time resident of Mason City, died Saturday September 16, 2006 at the Concord Care Center in Garner. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 23, 2006 in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, prior to the committal. Memorials may be given to the Gerald L. Booth Sr. Memorial Fund. Gerald was born January 10, 1925, in Mason City, to Vincent and Laura Booth. He married Ruth May Steenblock in Mason City on July 11, 1945. Gerald served in the United States Army during World War II in France. He received a purple heart as a disabled veteran of the Army. Gerald was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Mason City. Gerald is survived by his children; Gerald L. Booth Jr. and wife Kay of Ozark, Missouri, Carol Davis and husband Gary of Rock Falls, Iowa, Linda Johnson and husband David of Blue Springs, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Sam Booth and wife Margy of Ventura, Iowa, sister Dixie Holstad and husband Erwin of Sun Lakes, Arizona, sister Laura Davis of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
