Gladys M. Bracken, 94, of 501 S. Kentucky, died Thursday (September 4, 2003) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Bill Poland officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Plymouth. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, and continue Monday at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church or Hospice of North Iowa. Gladys was born December 12, 1908 in Lime Creek Township, Cerro Gordo County the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Boy) Bryant. She married Robert E. McCrea in 1925 in Mason City. They farmed southwest of Mason City for many years. Mr. McCrea died in 1955. She would later marry Arthur J. Bracken. Gladys was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, enjoyed cards, gardening and an avid Minnesota Twins and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball fan. Gladys is survived by a daughter-in-law; Corinne McCrea of Rancho Mirage, CA, granddaughter; Bonnie Dezarov of Palm Desert, CA, great grand-son; Bobby Dezarov of Palm Desert, CA, step-daughters; Dorothy Frenz of Clear Lake, Lavonne Grupp of Chanhassen, MN, Marian Flynn of Hoopeston, IL, step-son; Donald Bracken and wife Marge of Rochester, MN, step-grandchildren; Kathleen Dahlstrand and husband Paul of Lyons, IL, Judith Frenz of Clear Lake, David Frenz and wife Karrie of Mason City, Barbara Smith and husband Dick of Sumner, Penny Bracken and partner Buzz Mitchell and son Andrew Mitchell of Rochester, MN, Tom Grupp of Minneapolis, MN, Scott Grupp of Alabama, Jacquelyn Johnson and husband Scott of Lakeland, FL, step-great grandchildren; Kevin Dahlstrand and wife June, Shawn, Colin and Corey Dahlstrand, Doug Frenz and wife Marie, Chris Frenz and wife Jackie, Kara Winkowitsch and husband Doug, Erik Smith and wife Lori, Tracy Smith, Tony Smith and wife Gina, Shelley Schwieso and husband Curt, Clair Grupp and husband Michael, Todd Grupp, Cynthia Abrego and husband Pablo, Graham Johnson, many step-great great grandchildren Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, 1st and 2nd husbands, her son, 1 sister, 2 brothers, her great grandson and great-great granddaughter
