Gladys M. Richards

Gladys M. Richards, 91, of 302 2nd St. N.E. Mason City, died Thursday, December 15, 2006 at Good Shepherd Health Center after a recent surgery. Memorial Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday (December 20, 2006) at St. John?s Episcopal Church, 120 1st. St. N.E. with the Rev. Wendy Abrahamson officiating. Inurnment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery. Upon her wishes her body was cremated and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Gladys Richards memorial fund. Gladys was born in Mason City on January 1, 1915 to James and Alice Elizabeth (Tims) Hutchins. She attended Mason City schools and graduated with the class of 1933. She was a life long member of St. John?s Episcopal Church and she was active in various projects and church activities. Gladys is survived by her stepson; G. Robert Richards and wife Jean of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and granddaughters, Susan Richards of Denver, Colorado and Tracy Richards Martinez of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon L. Richards; parents; sisters, Rose Hutchins Preston and May Amelia Hutchins; brother, Ernest E. Hutchins and several relatives in the UK.
