Glen A. Blunt

Glen A. Blunt, 97, of 16251 245th Street, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. James Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the Glen A. Blunt Memorial Fund. Glen was born December 25, 1908 in Rudd, Iowa the son of Edwin and Carrie (Gustafson) Blunt. He married Evelyn S. Mortenson November 4, 1934 in Mason City. Glen worked many years as a typesetter for newspapers and job printing companies in Mason City, St. Louis, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a 70 year member of the Typographical Union. Glen is survived by 2 daughters, Constance Nelson and husband Darrell of Bloomington, Minnesota and Deanna Roen and husband Kenneth of Prescott, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Harold and Dolly Schipper of Mason City; many nieces, nephews, cousins and caring neighbors and friends. Glen was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn in 2001, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
