Interment will be held in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family of Glendon Losen.

Glen was born in 1932, in Decorah, Iowa to parents Alfred and Gyda Losen and was raised on the family farm. He was a 1950 graduate of Mabel (MN) High School, and then attended Luther College before enlisting in the US Army, serving in Korea from 1953 to 1955. He was a 1956 graduate of Luther College and earned a Master of Art in Education - Mathematics in 1965 from the Iowa State Teachers College (UNI).

Glen began his teaching career at Belmond High School in 1957. The family moved to Mason City in 1967, where he taught Mathematics at Mason City High School until retiring in 1991. He also taught various math courses at NIACC and Hamilton Business College before and after his retirement.

He met Sandy, the apple of his eye, briefly in 1958, when she was delivering the high school newspaper, The Belmond Hoofbeats. They reconnected in 1961 and were married on August 9th, 1964, in Belmond, Iowa.

Glen's retirement revolved around golf. If Highland Park was open, he was there to play with his golf group, weather be damned. He insisted on walking the course, and played almost daily into his 90's. When he wasn't golfing, he enjoyed playing cribbage and poker with friends. He taught his grandchildren cribbage and enjoyed games with them in particular. He had a passion for cars, his favorites being his 1955 Chevy Impala and his shiny red 2017 Subaru Outback.

Glen was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by many. If ever there was a perfect cribbage hand of 29 or a hole in one in life and love, he certainly achieved them.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Losen (née Soma); his children, Neal Losen (Kim), Eric Losen (Lisa), Dave Losen (Dena), Val Engel (Steve) and Susan Johnson (Eric); and grandchildren, Betsy Losen, Michael Losen, Jon Losen, Tyler Losen, Anakin Losen, Connor Johnson and Quinn Johnson. Glen is also survived by his brother Alton Losen, several nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry Losen and nephew John Losen.
