Glenn A. Robertson, 89, of Madrid, Iowa formerly of Mason City died Sunday (November 30, 2003) at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Terry Hamilton-Poore, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Madrid Homes, 613 West North Street, Madrid, Iowa 50156 or the First Presbyterian Church, Mason City. Glenn was born May 29, 1914 in New Sharon, Iowa the son of William R. and Hattie (Farr) Robertson. He graduated from Gibson High School in 1932. He was married to Lois E. Holland on June 20, 1936 in Grinnell, Iowa. In the early part of their marriage, he farmed near Gibson and later moved to Oskaloosa where he worked for Sears Roebuck in sales. He subsequently moved to Plymouth, Iowa in 1966 and became the manager of the Plymouth Cooperative Elevator. He has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mason City since March of 1980. Recently, he and his wife, Lois, had moved to Madrid. Glenn is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois of Madrid; son, Ron Robertson and wife Vi of Ankeny; daughter, Rhonda Eickman and husband John of Hopewell Junction, NY; grandsons, Darin Robertson of Urbandale, Todd Robertson and wife Janel of South Sioux City, NE; granddaughter, Amanda Eickman of Hopewell Junction NY; great granddaughters, Darian Stevens and Taylor Robertson of South Sioux City, NE. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Afton, Forrest, Lowell and Floyd Robertson; 1 sister, Mildred Van Hoever.
