Guy D. Lane, 76, of Mason City, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday (April 9, 2008) at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W. with the Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday (April 8, 2008)at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the Guy D. Lane memorial fund.
Guy Dean Lane was born December 1, 1931 in Charles City, Iowa the son of Ivan and Henrietta (Rodemaker) Lane. He attended school in Charles City and graduated in 1950. He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corp. in 1952 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1954. After his return from the service he worked at various jobs in Charles City. He was married to Janet Dixon in 1962 at Grace United Methodist Church in Mason City. After moving to Mason City he drove truck for Plaggee Truck Lines for many years. He then went to work for a couple different construction companies in Mason City until going to work in the maintenance department for Risto Inc. in Mason City until retiring in 1992. Guy liked to read, fish, and he was a collector of many things, he also was a hardworker and was always busy. He loved making and building things and built each of his grandchildren a toy box. He enjoyed his family and the time he spent with them. Guy was a member of the V.F.W. and also a former member of the Moose Lodge. He also was a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Janet (Dixon) Lane; children, Jolene Nachazel and Russel Hall, Pamela Gobeli, David Lane and wife Lisa all of Mason City, and Sandra Watson and husband Jay of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Linsey Nachazel, Travis Nachazel and Amanda, Shannon Jindra and husband Jeramiah, Brandon and Joshua Gobeli and Levi Provin, Ashley Lane and fiancé Brock Page, Zachery and Mallory Lane, Jason, Kyle, and Brittani Watson; great grandchildren, Emma Nachazel, Jeslyn, Kearby and Anthony Jindra; mother, Henrietta Lane; siblings, Ivadelle Stevenson and husband Jerry, Delton Lane and wife Sharon, Claire Lane and wife Lucille, Betty Rex, Warren Johnny and wife Judy, Linda Steffler and husband Allen and Virginia Ginny Kneisel and Ron.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Lane; mother-in-law, Almira Sauer; and brother-in-laws, Jim Messerlie and Jim Rex.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church.
