Hannah Gilbertson

Hannah Eldora Gilbertson, 98, of 302 2nd St. NE died Saturday (August 9, 2003) at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Brush Point Cemetery, Fertile. Visitation will be one hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to KCMR radio. Hannah was born March 26, 1905 in rural Kensett, Iowa the daughter of Telford and Anna (Orpen) Gilbertson. She attended high school in Hanlontown and worked on the family farm as a young woman. She moved to Kensett and then to Manly where she worked at the Midway and Depot Café restaurants. She moved to Mason City in 1940 where she worked as a waitress at the Fort Hopkins Restaurant for 26 years, retiring in 1967. Hannah was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed needlework, crocheting and listening to KCMR. Hannah is survived by several cousins and second cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Alvin in 1988 and cousins Irville and Guy.
