Helen H. Smidt, 94, of Mason City, passed away peacefully at Heritage Care Center on Wednesday, June 13, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 17, 2013, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Miles Grismore of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Helen H. Smidt memorial fund in care of the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com Helen was born October 12, 1918, in Britt, Iowa, one of fifteen children to Henry and Emily (Heerkes) Smidt. She graduated from Britt High School in 1935. She enjoyed helping her parents on the farm and took care of her mother in her later years. She enjoyed working outside tending to her garden and yard. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Helen is survived by her sister, Geraldine Pitkin of Clear Lake; many nieces and nephews; and two sister-in-laws, Helen Smidt of Mason City and Dorothy Smidt of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Henry, Ole, Ann, Henry, Louie, Alice, Fanny, Emily, Hensman, Ben, Lena, Jenny and George Sr.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation:
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
