Helen Marie Jung

Helen Jung age 90, of 302 Second Street NE died Monday, July 5, 2005 at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2005 Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Samuel Hamilton-Poore officiating. Friends may call Major Erickson Funeral Home from 5 ? 7 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2005. Burial will be East of Sheffield at Zion - St. John?s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Helen Jung Memorial Fund. Helen Marie Jung was born August 24, 1914 at Hampton, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hampton. She attended Greenwood County School and graduated from Hampton High School in 1932. Later she worked in Des Moines for several years and returned to Hampton to care for her family. She was married in 1937 to Henry L. Jung in the St. John?s Lutheran Church East of Sheffield. They farmed on the family farm and retired in 1970 and moved to Mason City. Helen worked at Fareway Bakery for five years and at K-Mart for ten years. After retiring she was the Lobby Lady at McDonald?s for 12 years. Her hobbies were reading, gardening, sewing, cooking and she was a member of several social card clubs. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Koch and Nickolena Petersen Koch, sisters, Ruth, Verna, Marlene, and Elizabeth, brothers, Harry, Bill, Albert and Walter, her husband Henry L. Jung in 1981 and son Rick G. Jung in 1996. Living family members include her son Ronald (residing in Chicago), brother Edward Koch, sister Delores Neiss, sister-in-law, Jeri Koch, and grandson Rick Jr, granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda and great granddaughter Kamryn.
