Helen M. Miltenberger, 93, of Mason City, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Upon her wishes, her body was cremated. Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Helen Miltenberger memorial fund in care of the family. Helen was born on May 4, 1918, in Mason City, the daughter of Edward E. and Louie (Taylor) Kreutzbenzer. She graduated from Mason City High School. Helen married Virgil L. Miltenberger on January 1, 1937 in Mason City. In 1941, Helen moved to San Diego, CA, where she worked for Consolidated Aircraft for 3 years (during WWII). She also lived in Grand Rapids, MN, before settling in Mason City in 1950. Helen worked for Damons for 15 years before retiring in 1979. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, canning, and baking. Helen is survived by one grandson: Richard James Calvert of Sioux Falls, SD, and one granddaughter: Linda Kay Blakley of Davenport, IA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Virgil in 1985, her daughter: Marlene Kay Calvert and husband Earl; and one sister: Louise Briggs.
