Indus J. Murray, 89, of Mason City, IA, died peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Per her wishes her body was donated to Mayo Clinic Department of Anatomy in Rochester, MN. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Davenport, IA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd St SE, Mason City, IA 50401 or the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank, P.O. Box 1565, Mason City, IA 50401.
Indus was born April 7, 1926, in Nora Springs, IA, the daughter of Paul D. and Margaret (Wilson) Wiley. Indus was the devoted wife of Charles Murray for 67 years, beloved mother to six children, cherished grandmother to ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1944, and was married on June 13, 1948. She was a member of the PEO sisterhood, Chapter KW.
Indus is survived by her beloved husband: Charles; her sons: Rick (Karel), Bill (Terri), Scott (Rhonda), and Marc (Michelle); daughter-in-law: Becky; her grandchildren: Chad (Alisha), Jon (Erin), Matt (Tara), Ben (Ashley), Paul (Ashley), Caitlin, Steven (Sheena), Ashley, Nic and Noah; great-grandchildren: Keira, Torri, Brynn, Cale, Kellen, Tia, Brooke and Avery; her loving sister: Patricia Parker; and nieces: Cindy Bischoff and Nancy McElhiney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Chris; daughter: Lyn; and niece: Sue Button.
