Jack R. Scott, 76, of 109 Lakeview Drive died Friday (June 20, 2003) at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia with Rev. Bill Poland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before services. Memorials may be given to the Jack R. Scott Memorial Fund. Jack was born September 1, 1926 in Cozad, Nebraska the son of Ray and Hattie Scott. He graduated from Cozad High School in 1943 then served in the US Navy for two and one half years during WWII. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Nebraska for 4 years. Jack was recalled into active duty serving in the Korean Conflict for 2 years. He married Gwendolyn Thomas August 19, 1950. Jack worked for Travelers Insurance Company for 14 years. The Scott?s moved to Mason City in 1966 when Jack purchased Gus Muehe Insurance Agency. Through the years Jack consolidated other agencies into his own and in 2001 merged his business into Becker Insurance Agency. Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past board member at the church, past president Cerro Gordo Independent Insurance Agents, Mason City Rotary, Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, past chairman United Way, VFW and the Masonic Lodge. Jack is survived by his wife; Gwendolyn of Mason City, Daughters; Susan Scott of Lakewood, CO, Alexis Scott of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer Scott and husband John Perszyk of Eden Prairie, MN, Grandchildren; Heather Maxwell, John Rebeiro, Alexander Scott Rebeiro, Thomas Perszyk, Lynn Perszyk, Sister; Dorothy Ingram and husband Leo of Cozad, NE, many nieces and nephews Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother; Robert
