Jack Richard McKiness

Jack R. McKiness, 65, died September 11, 2017 at his home of natural causes. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of North Iowa

Jack was born June 21, 1952 to Robert E. and Maxine (Collins) McKiness. The third of five boys, Jack was the gentle giant known for his dry sense of humor.

Jack graduated from Mason City High School in 1970. In his younger days he was an avid Go-Cart racer and later in life he played poker with friends and black jack at casino’s for fun. Jack Loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Green Bay Packers and his cats. He enjoyed working out and riding around town on his recumbent bike. He was a voracious reader and especially liked science fiction novels. Jack worked as a mechanic for McKiness Excavating.

Jack was proceeded in death by his mother and father and brothers Doug, Mike and Craig.

Jack is survived by his brother Robert H (Suzan), sister-in-law Pam McKiness, nieces Sonja McKiness Perez, Keely McKiness, nephew Garett McKiness (Laura).
