Janice Marlene Rasmussen, 78, of Mason City, died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Private graveside services were held on Saturday April 30, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City with Pastor Kathy Graves of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
Janice was born November 22, 1937 to Gerhard and Anna Marie (Seebeck) Prull on the family farm near Kanawha, Iowa. She attended Amsterdam Township country schools and graduated from Kanawha High School. Upon graduation from Hamilton Business School in Mason City, she was employed for many years by KGLO Radio and Television. She later worked for Farm Credit Services for fourteen years.
On April 18, 1958, Janice was united in marriage to Dale E. Rasmussen at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church. They resided in Mason City all of their married life. Janice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. She was an avid reader and enjoyed all sports.
She is survived by her husband Dale, daughter Kim Andrea and husband Joseph Jr., of Milford, Iowa; three grandchildren, Amy (Josef) Yegge of Cedar Rapids, Christopher Wilmarth (Jenn Bitker) and Joshua Wilmarth (special friend, Debra Echkardt), Mason City, step granddaughter Rebecca Andrea of Milford; 3 great grandchildren, Wyatt Yegge, Canon Yegge and Cale Wilmarth; one sister, Carolyn Welden of Iowa Falls; brother-in-law Frank Voet of Mason City, sister-in-law Joan Rasmussen of Mason City, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law John Welden, sister-in-law Marjorie Voet and brother-in-law Marlyn Rasmussen.
