Janice S. Bergan

Janice S. Bergan, 77, of Manly, IA, died Sunday, December 4, 2016, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Ed Bard, Chaplain - Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 8, 2016. Memorials may be directed to the Janice Bergan memorial fund in care of the family.

Janice was born November 11, 1939, in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Clifford J. and Wava (Pine) Christensen. She attended Mason City High School. On November 11, 1956, she married Richard Bergan in Mason City. Janice worked for D & D Printing for many years before retiring in 2007. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, camping and bowling on a mixed league in her younger years.

Janice is survived by 6 children: Deborah Bostrom and husband Brett of Rosemount, MN, Barbara King and special friend Fernando Delgado of Mason City, Michael Bergan and wife Laura of Clear Lake, IA, David Bergan and wife Jane of Mason City, Scott Bergan and wife Lorena of Mason City, and Doug Bergan and special friend Angela Keeling of Manly; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 brother: Kenneth Christensen and wife Nancy of Mason City; sister-in-law: Susie Bergan of Mason City; 2 nephews: Larry Bergan Jr. of Hanlontown, IA and Randy Christensen and wife Jean of Mason City; and 2 nieces: Becky Kantaris and husband Nick of Mason City and Libby Christensen and fiancé Ben Splichal of Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2005; brother: Duane Christensen; and sister: Beverly Olsen.
