MASON CITY: Jean Elaine Berry, 86, of Mason City, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 19, 2008, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Steve Palo of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield. Memorials may be directed to the Jean Elaine Berry memorial fund in care of the family.
Jean was born June 26, 1922 in rural Mason City, the daughter of Carl E. and Signe (Larson) Sjostrand. She attended and graduated from Sheffield High School. She was married to Cecil Fuller on January 29, 1942 in Albert Lea, MN to this union two children, Dennis and Gary were born. After Cecils death in 1950 she then married H. Blake Berry on August 20, 1954 in Columbia, MO to this union their daughter Suzann was born. She lived in Mason City for over 45 years and worked at Marshall and Swift Cleaners for 3 years and also Barons for 3 years. Jean also was a full-time mother and housewife. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, visiting and having coffee with family and friends, and just being at home. Family was important to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she enjoyed the times she spent with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Fuller and wife Connie of Mason City, Gary Fuller and wife Carol of Mason City, Suzann Whitehurst and husband Jay of Mason City; five grandchildren; Dawn Loux and husband Dino of Clear Lake, Holly Kahler and husband Chad of Mason City, Cody and Jesse Whitehurst of Mason City and Graham Fuller of Des Moines; five great grandchildren, Jade and Myah Loux, Mac, Samuel and Kylie Kahler; brother, Elmer Sjostrand and wife Dorothy of Rockwell; and sister-in-law, Betty Sjostrand of Mason City
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Cecil Fuller Jr. in 1950, and H. Blake Berry in 1998; sister, June Robeoltman and two brothers, Donald Sjostrand and Robert Sjostrand.
