Jeannie Kay Thompson, age 78, formerly of Osage, passed away on December 31, 2024, at Good Shepherd Health Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Osage Alliance Church, 726 State St, Osage. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time. Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Osage Alliance Church.
Born on October 10, 1946, to Jocelyn and James Anderson, Jeannie lived a life filled with love, compassion, and creativity.
Jeannie graduated from Mason City High School in 1965. In 1974 she married Steven Thompson and moved to Osage, where she dedicated herself to her family, raising four children. In 2014, she returned to Mason City, IA.
A devoted homemaker, Jeannie found joy in her family, always praying for others and offering support to those in need. She also enjoyed art and music. Her kind spirit and unwavering faith made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Jonathan Thompson, Mason City, IA, Rebekah Hickok, Des Moines, IA, Michael Thompson, Mason City, IA, and Deborah Thompson, Osage, IA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Camden Thompson, Northwood, IA, Jasmin Post, Mason City, IA, William Thompson, Mason City, IA and Sophia Thompson, Mason City, IA.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jocelyn Anderson, and her sister, Constance Anderson (Mrs. Kenneth Lester).
She will be missed and fondly remembered for her strength, creativity, and the warmth she brought into the lives of others. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and celebrate her life.
