Jeffrey J. Trask

MASON CITY: Jeffrey J. Trask, 35, of Mason City, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, October 12, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 – 4th Street SE with Pastor Jeni Bohls officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church Monday one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Jeffrey J. Trask Memorial Fund.

Jeff was born October 28, 1979 in Mason City the son of Bill and Linda (Posey) Trask. He was baptized December 30, 1979 and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City. He graduated from Mason City High in 1998 and attended North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) graduating with an Associates Business degree. He married Lisa Ciavarelli July 7, 2001. To this union 2 children were born, Alana and Leah. They would later divorce. Jeff married Brenda Warner October 4, 2014 and are expecting baby Trask to arrive in February. He completed his hunter safety course in time to hunt deer in October of 1991. He loved to hunt, fish, hike and spend time with his family and his two cats, Max and Clover. Jeff participated in baseball, track, football and ice hockey while in school as well as Boy Scouts through the years. He was employed by Hy-Vee West for many years working in the meat department.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Brenda Trask of Mason City; children, Alana & Leah Trask and Olivia Warner all of Mason City; parents, Bill and Linda Trask of Mason City; 1 brother, Jason (Erin) Trask of Nora Springs; 1 sister, Jennifer (Bryan) Hansen of Mason City; special nieces, Kayla and Kasey Trask and nephew, Trey Hansen; mother and father-in-law, David and Cheryl Warner of Greene; 2 sisters-in-law, Amanda Warner of Osage and Nicole (Loren) La Valley of Mason City along with other extended family members.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Diana (Kardoes) Trask and Harold and Mary Louis (Felt) Posey.
