Jeremy Ross Baker

Jeremy R. ?Ross? Baker, 77 of 841 ? 6th Street SE, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 1st Street NE with Pastor Patti Aurand officiating. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Ross was born February 27, 1929 in Forest City the son of Harry and Myrtle (Lackore) Baker. He graduated from Forest City High School. Ross served in the US 15th Air Force from 1948-1952. He married Barbara Chadbourne July 31, 1950 in Riverside, California. Ross returned to Mason City where he worked for Borden?s Dairy Products from 1953-1980. Ross served as a custodian at the First Congregational United Church of Christ from 1985 till present. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and the American Legion. Ross enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Ross is survived by his wife, Barbara Baker of Mason City; sisters, Melba Osnes and husband Sverre of Patterson, California, Betty Johnson and husband Gene of Forest City, Vivian Kvale and husband Sidney of Lake Mills; sister-in-law, Evelyn Baker of Laurens; nieces, Kristi Gudmonson and husband Dennis, Sue Mannes and husband Wayne, Joan Christian and husband Kent, Sandy Hugelen and husband John, Karen Carlson and husband Keith, Lois Hutson, Kathy Breiner and husband Jim, Cindy Lubinus and husband Larry; nephews, Doug Baker and wife Becky, Howard Baker and wife Liza and David Osnes and wife Linda. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold Baker and his wife Geraldine and their son Phil, Harvey Baker; niece, Marilyn Christienson and husband Marty.
