Clear Lake, IA JoAnn E. Shallberg, 77, of Clear Lake, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at her home. A Celebration of Life will be 10:30 A.M. Friday (July 29, 2011) at the Galilean Lutheran Church, 4454 255th St., HWY 18 West, Clear Lake, with Rev. Scot McCluskey officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Nebraska. Upon her wishes she was cremated and there will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the Galilean Lutheran Church or Opportunity Village, both of Clear Lake, IA. Mrs. Shallberg was born January 23, 1937 in Albert Lee, MN to Earl and Charlotte (Weber) Fritz. She and Gerald Shallberg were married in September 1954 at the Little Brown Church. Her professional life included accounting work with a few motor freight companies before working at Dwyer Aircraft for twenty-three years. After retirement she enjoyed the friendship of the Aqua Belles and her many card-playing groups. She was a member of Galilean Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. Survivors include her son, David of Olathe, Kansas, two sisters, Patricia L. Erisman of Tonawanda, New York, and Shirley A. Thomas Yeager, and one granddaughter, Annika. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 2006.
