John Allan Austin

John Allan Austin, 65, of Mason City, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice Inpatient Unit. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery. A picnic will be held for friends and family immediately following the service at East Park #3 in Mason City.

John was born May 16, 1953 the son of O. Glen and Delma (Collins) Austin in Mason City, Iowa. He attended Mason City Schools and later worked at Handicap Village.

John enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and excelled in the bowling program.

John is survived by his two sisters, Norma Jean Swenson, Cindy Kay Wurtzel; brother, Randy Wayne (Patti) Austin; seven nieces; eight nephews and lots of great and great-great nieces and nephews and a world of special friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill (Elaine) Austin, Bob (Gloria) Austin; brother in law, Dean Swenson; one niece; one nephew and a great nephew.
