Jon B. Dunn, 51, Mason City, died Sunday, June 25, 2006. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Friday (June 30, 2006) at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 North Adams, with Rev. Jon Seda officiating. There will be no visitation. A private family inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jon B. Dunn memorial fund. Jon Bartlett Dunn was born on September 14, 1954 in Mason City, the son of Robert and Marjorie Dunn. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1972. He attended NIACC and graduated in 1974, he then attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1976. Jon married the love of his life, Patrice Rubalcava on August 17, 1974. After graduating from UNI with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting, he became a successful and well respected Certified Public Accountant. He entered into partnership with Tim Schupick and together they started Schupick & Dunn CPA?s a professional corporation. He was extremely proud of his service as a former member of the Mason City School Board. He supported a variety of youth activities, including the Girl Scouts, Youth Baseball, The United Way, Jaycee?s, and the Stebens Children?s Theatre. He was also a member of the Mason City Education Foundation. He enjoyed every aspect of hunting and fishing almost as much as spending time with his wife and children, Amy, Eric and Nathan and his large extended family. Through-out his life he had always been an avid outdoorsman and led an active life. JB was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be remembered forever by those who knew him best as a gracious and boisterous storyteller. He was a larger-than-life family man who was generous with his love, time, and personality. He will be terribly missed by all. He is survived by his wife Pattie; daughter, Amy Deines and husband Brian; two sons, Eric and Nathan; sister, Barb Kellogg of Mason City; brothers, Roger Dunn and wife Nancy of Waverly, IA, William Dunn and wife Molly of Manhatton, KS; parents-in-law, Eladio Rubalcava and wife Susan of Mason City, two sister-in-laws, Susan Greer and husband Dennis of Owatonna, MN, Jeannie Benn of Atlantic, IA; two brother-in-laws, John Rubalcava and wife Julie of Cedar Rapids, IA, Bob Rubalcava of Mason City; twenty-one nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Dunn.
