Jonathan (John) C. Lundahl, 66, of Mason City, died suddenly Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Mercy Medical Center ? North Iowa. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 14th at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Rev. Kenneth Hatland, Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 13th from 4 ? 7 P.M. at Major Erickson Funeral Home, and will continue for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Memorials may be directed to Jean Lundahl, 4149 Orchid Ave., Kensett, Iowa, 50448. John was born July 30, 1937 in Wayne, Nebraska the son of Carl and Lillian (Groh) Lundahl and was raised on a farm in Belden, Nebraska. He graduated from Belden High School in 1956. He married Sandra Ringis August 9, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. They moved to Sioux City, Iowa where John was employed at the Buick garage. They returned to Mason City in 1960 and then daughter Jean was born 1964. In Mason City, John worked for the Mason City Brick and Tile Company, Consolidated Foods, and retired from Key Wholesale. He was currently working part-time for the Mason City Parks and Recreation Department. John was a very out going person who enjoyed visiting with everyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, going to dances and spending time with his dog ?Sally?. John was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mason City, Eagles of Albert Lea, MN, Teamsters Local 828, Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, and was a Co-founder of the Mason City Rifle and Pistol Club. John is survived by his daughter Jean and her husband Brad Heagel of Kensett, Iowa, and a special friend Jan Anderson of Goodell, Iowa. John was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
