MASON CITY ? Joyce Scott, 46 of Mason City died Monday, February 7, 2005 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation for Joyce will be from 5 ? 7 PM Friday, February 18, 2005 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. There will be no funeral service. Memorials may be directed to the family. Joyce was born October 8, 1958 in California the daughter of Robert and Norma (Currathers) Schaecher. The family then moved to Idaho where Joyce lived most of her life. Joyce attended school and began working, she later received her GED. She then spent ten months in the United States Army but was discharged due to her health. Joyce was united in marriage to Russ Scott on July 20, 1990. In her younger years Joyce and her father did lots of hunting. She loved to fish, Russ and Joyce did lots of fishing and hunting after they were married. Joyce enjoyed the outdoors and loved all types of wildlife. Joyce enjoyed making all sorts of crafts and especially liked to crochet. Many nights when she was not able to sleep she would spend hours reading, as it became a passion of hers. Joyce had two very special pet cats, Denver and Bronco which also happened to be the names of her favorite football team. She was an avid Denver Broncos fan watched every chance that she had. She also was a fan of NASCAR racing and Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Joyce enjoyed collecting bears or any brand, shape or size. She especially loved playing with her grandchildren who will miss her so very much. Joyce is survived by her husband Russ of Mason City; mother, Norma Schaecher of Mason City, one son Ronnie of Michigan; one daughter, Tammy of Idaho; four step daughters, Joan Ziemke of Marshalltown, Jane Bertram of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jennifer Davilla and husband Mike Herbert of Arvada, Colorado and Jackie Scott of Gillette, Wyoming; fifteen Great Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild; brothers, Robert Schaecher JR. of Salt Lake City, Utah and Leonard Schaecher of Nampa, Idaho; sisters, Karen Robirds and husband Jim of Rupert, Idaho, Brenda Schaecher of Lakewood, Washington and Kathy Troutman and companion Dwayne Bratten of Battle Mountain, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Schaecher, one grandchild Kathleen Jane Scott and one son-in-law, Manuel Davilla.
