Judith Hawley

Mason City: Judith D. Hawley, 65, died at Mercy Medical Center ? North Iowa on September 18, 2007. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 22, 2007, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 1st St. N.E., with the Pastor Patti Aurand officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, Friday (September 21, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Memorials may be directed to the Judith Hawley memorial fund. Judith was born May 31, 1942 in Bancroft, Iowa, the daughter of John H. Jr. and Marjorie (Hammond) Schueler. She graduated from Swea City High School and moved to Mason City in 1964. Judith was married to J. Marlin Hawley in December of 1967 in Sioux Falls, S.D. Judith was co-owner of H.R. Block and retired in January of 2007 after 41 years. Judy was considered a mentor in the tax industry. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, eating spicy food, gardening, working, and watching the Public TV British Sitcoms. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was very involved with her family, and especially enjoyed Christmas time. She is survived by her husband, Marlin Hawley of Mason City; son Mark Hawley and wife Jackie of Nevada, IA; two grandchildren, Beverly and Katherine; one brother, Roger Schueler and wife Caryn of Ottawa, IL She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Michael; one sister, JoAnne VanHove.
