Justin A. Huckins, 22, of Clear Lake, IA, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City following a head injury. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM with a time of sharing at 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue – Mason City. Memorials may be directed to the Justin Huckins memorial fund in care of the family.
Justin was born March 3, 1994, in Newark, OH, the son of Bill and Melanie (Reichardt) Huckins. He graduated from Mason City High School in 2013. Following graduation Justin moved to Northwoods Living in Fort Dodge, IA. In Feb. of this year Justin moved to Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, IA. Justin enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his sister Emily. Justin loved listening to music and watching Andy Griffith. He also enjoyed computers, trains, watching YouTube videos, and biking & walking in his earlier years. Justin had a smile that lit up the room and he enjoyed joking around with those people close to him.
Justin is survived by his mother: Melanie Huckins of Mason City; his father: Bill Huckins of Mason City; 2 sisters: Emily Huckins of Mason City and Stephanie (Huckins) Bukalski and husband David of Blacklick, OH; his grandmother: Sharon Springer of Garner, IA; and his great grandmother Helen Reichardt of Fontanelle, Ia. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Don and Adele Huckins, Paul Reichardt and Ron Springer; and his uncle Todd Reichardt.
