Kathleen (Kathy) E. Jackson, 70, of Mason City, left us for her heavenly home on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday (April 19, 2011) at First Assembly of God Church, 1301 North Carolina, with Pastor George Addy officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the Kathleen E. Jackson memorial fund in care of the family.
Kathy was born in Mason City, on June 7, 1940 the daughter of Delos and Lois (Bull) Harris. She attended Mason City Schools. She married William (Bill) Jackson the love of her life on February 13, 1965. Kathy worked at the Villa, a family owned restaurant in Mason City and at Heritage Care Center in Mason City.
Kathy loved to cook and bake and blessed her family with many scrumptious meals and wonderful baked goods. At Christmas time she liked to make plentiful trays of goodies which included her delicious cookies, fudge and baklava. Her grandchildren looked forward to grandmass homemade caramel apples at Halloween. For many years, Kathy and Bill grew a large garden and she enjoyed canning vegetables and jam for her family. She also enjoyed sharing her craft projects with family and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren. Kathy loved to grow flowers, her favorites being roses and marigolds, she and Bill also enjoyed sitting on the deck to enjoy the flowers and watch the squirrels. Kathy liked to collect angels, most of which were given to her with love from her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathy is survived by her husband of forty six years, Bill; six children, Lynnie (Jim) Martindale of Glendora, CA, Greg Bradbury (Sue Kral) of Mason City, Tim (Bonnie) Bradbury of Nora Springs, Julie (Gary) Fricke of St. Ansgar, James Jackson (Kelly Scholl) of Plymouth, and Jodie (Jim) Fink of Rockford. Dawn Miller of Nora Springs was also a special daughter to Kathy. She was also loved and cherished by seventeen grandchildren; Megan, Mitchell, and Brianna Martindale, Justin, Teddy, and Dylan Bradbury, Alyssa (Damien Uern), T.J. and Angela Bradbury, Josh (Sara) and Chris (Teresa) Johnson, Matt, Sammie, and Makenzie Jackson, Nicholas Freeman, Zach and Michael Fink and two great-grandchildren, Chaske Uern and Gabriel Johnson; brothers, Mike (Jeanne) Moorehead of Mason City, Dan Moorehead of Milwaukee, WI, and Charlotte (Ted) Baker of Mason City; aunts, Charlotte Rush of Mason City, and Mildred Moorehead of Mason City, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-dad Kenneth Miller, daughter-in-law, Stacey Bradbury and granddaughter, Casse Fricke.
We Love you, Kathy. Thank You for sharing your sense of humor, generosity, and love with so many while you were with us. We are all blessed to have known you and shared in your life.
