K.B. Kneeland Fred Fredrickson, 87, of 2409 S. Jefferson Avenue, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Avenue with Rev. Emily Horrell officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. A Moose Lodge service will be held at 6:00 PM. Memorials may be given to Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson or the V.F.W., 1603 S. Monroe. Fred was born August 17, 1921 in Deer Creek, Minnesota the son of Martin and Elma (Hillman) Fredrickson. He attended schools in Worth County. Fred married June M. Tibbits May 17, 1944 in Glenville, Minnesota. He served in the US Army during WW II. Fred worked as a cement mason foreman for 47 years with Henkel Construction Company here in Mason City. He retired in 1984. Fred was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church, American Legion, V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending his weekends hunting and fishing.
Fred is survived by his wife, June M. Fredrickson of Mason City; children, Terry (Jan) Fredrickson of Brighton, Colorado, Kenneth Fredrickson of Mason City, Lori (Ray) Nessler of Niwot, Colorado and Martin (Grace) Fredrickson of Great Falls, Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Sean Gage, Tifni (Andrew) Lee, Kaci Nessler, Lauren Fredrickson, Stacie (Ken) Borrousch and Scott (Heather) Ammon; 4 great grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Luke and Emmalee; brother, Robert (Darlene) Fredrickson of Mason City.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Alfreda Johnson and 1 brother, Dale Fredrickson.
