Ollman was born Feb. 21, 1954, the son of H. Bruce and Isabel (Zocher) Ollman in Austin, Minn. Kelly attended school in and graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Minn. Kelly then attended Mankato State University, completing his undergraduate work and furthering his education by completing his masters degree in health and wellness. During his high school days and while at Mankato State, Kelly participated in gymnastics, specializing in the rings. He received a silver medal from Mankato State, a Division III school, for his routine on the rings during one of the competitions. Kelly moved to Mason City to begin working for NIACC where he coordinated the non-credit classes for students and later worked with students in the job training program. Kelly was united in marriage to Sue Cannon on April 12, 1986, in Mason City at St. James Lutheran Church. In 1987, they purchased the Rainbow International Carpet Dyeing and Cleaning franchise. Kelly took great pride in making sure that his clients had the cleanest carpets in the area. Following the sale of the business in 1998, he concentrated his efforts in an Internet business, which he still owns and works with. In the fall of 1999, Kelly began working for Lyons Toyota-Dodge as a car salesman. He was very conscientious of getting the very best deal for each one of his customers, going to every length to ensure their total satisfaction. The other employees at Lyons will miss his smile and "go-get-em" attitude. He was always ready to help anyone that needed him. Kelly and Sue have two daughters, Katherine and Sarah; they were the pride and joy of his life. He spent as much time as he could with them, going to movies, playing board games or dominoes, or listening to them practice their musical instruments. Both of the girls are very talented vocalists and he would brag them up every chance he got. Both the girls have been selected to sing in the OPUS Honor Choir in Ames this November. Kelly spent time at home listening to classical music, taking walks or even sometimes running to stay in shape, riding bike, and reading novels, especially those written by Dean Koontz. He played the classical guitar for many years and played at the MacNider Art Museum in the past. Kelly also enjoyed playing golf with his buddies whenever he could. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sue, and daughters, Katherine and Sarah, all of Mason City; his parents, Bruce and Isabel Ollman of Austin, Minn.; two brothers, Glenn (Mary) Ollman of Brookfield, Colo., Jeff (Cindy) Ollman of Austin, Minn.; one sister, Cindy Holtz of Billings, Mont.; mother-in-law, Ruth Cannon of Elma; brother-in-law, Keith (Marcia) Cannon of Elma; sister-in-law, Barb (Merrill) Havlik of Elma and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Kelly was preceded in death by his grandparents. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, (641) 423-0924.
