Kenneth K. Wiltsie, 76, of The Villages, formerly of Mason City, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at home. Private graveside services were held at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Gehling, Chaplain Mercy Medical Center North Iowa officiating. There was no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Northern Lights, House of Hope Homeless Shelter. Ken was born May 20, 1938 in Clarion, Iowa the son of Edward and Mildred “Polly” (Bryant) Wiltsie. Ken graduated from Iowa State University with an engineering degree. He then went to work for American Can Company in Pennsylvania. He returned to Mason City to begin working for Blazek Electric. He would later become a co-owner of the company. Ken retired in 2006 and along with wife Carol, moved to The Villages, Florida. There he enjoyed playing golf, Pickle Ball and Dragon Boat Racing. His team, the Leatherneck Warriors, raced all over the state of Florida. Ken is survived by his wife, Carol of The Villages; daughter, Kathy (Doyle) Lahti of Gold River, California; 2 sons, Tim (Kim) Wiltsie of Mason City and Doug (Nancy) Wiltsie of Mason City; 5 grandchildren, Laura Lahti of Oakland, California, Craig Lahti of Oakland, California, Anna Wiltsie of Oceanside, California, Emily Wiltsie of Ames and Alex Wiltsie of Mason City; 2 sisters, Beverly (Les) Hudson of Ft. Worth, Texas and Carolyn “Sue” (Soren) Hasfjord of Farmers Branch, Texas. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Ralph Livingston and daughter-in-law, Nicole Wiltsie.
