Kevin K. Sunken

Kevin K. Sunken, 69, of Sheffield, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. Per his request, cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date.

 Kevin Keith Sunken was born on June 11, 1955, to parents Simon and Gertrude (Boekelman) Sunken in rural Kossuth County, Iowa. He graduated from Titonka High School in 1973. After graduating, Kevin worked as a mechanic, and most recently, he was a truck driver for Ruan. Kevin retired in 2018.

In his free time, Kevin enjoyed NASCAR. He loved attending races and collecting memorabilia. Kevin also loved John Deere tractors. Kevin also enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs. Kevin will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Kevin is survived by his partner, Cheryl Straughn; her children, Krystal (John) Crandall, Kenton (Catherine) Straughn; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Crandall; and his beloved dog, Bella.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Gertrude Sunken.
