Kirk A. Kral

MASON CITY: Kirk A. Kral, 43, of 138 12th Street NW, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday (December 23, 2006) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue., with Rev. Paul Nelson of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Kirk A. Kral Memorial Fund. Kirk A. Kral was born August 21, 1963 in Mason City, the son of Clarence and Diana (Paulsen) Kral. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1981. After high school, Kirk attended NIACC in Mason City and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State University in 1986, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Geography. He continued his education at Mankato State University taking graduate courses until 1990. Kirk was employed by Wal-Mart in 1991 and continued working there until the present time. Kirk married Sara Roe on August 27, 1994 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; to this union three children were born. He enjoyed photography, traveling, reading, history, and most of all spending time with his children. He was a very proud father and loving husband. Kirk is survived by his wife, Sara; children, Ty, age 7, Emma Rose, age 4, Andrew, age 2; grandmother, Mary Kral of Blair, WI; parents, Clarence and Diana Kral of Mason City; brothers, Kevin Kral and wife Kym of Wellman, IA, Chris Kral of Latimer, IA, Kai Kral of Mason City; mother-in-law, Martha Shahan of Clear Lake, father-in-law, Roger Roe and wife Zsuzsa of Budapest, Hungary; brother-in-law, Eric Roe of Clear Lake; sisters-in-law, Angela Gauden and husband Matt of Brooklyn Park, MN, Alison Roe of Mason City; nephews, Kale, Josh, Jeremy, Jacob, Nathan; and one niece, Paige. Kirk was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Rosemond Paulsen and James Kral. Arrangements are with Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory.
