Larry Don Boots

Larry Boots, 85, of West St. Paul and formerly of Mason City, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, surrounded by his family at The Sanctuary at West St. Paul. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Nick Daughtery Officiating. Memorials may be directed towards the family of Larry Boots.

Larry Don Boots was born February 28, 1939, in Dumont, Iowa to parents Elvon and Hilda (Groen) Boots. Larry graduated from Dumont High School in 1956 and then attended a trade school in Kansas City to become an auto technician. He then went on to work for Melvins Ford in Hampton and Don Lafrenz Ford in Mason City where he would retire from in 2000.

Larry was united in marriage to Kathleen Fisher September 17, 1961, in Aplington, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, Tim and Jeff. The couple spent most of their married life in Hampton and Mason City.

Larry enjoyed fishing, working on various home projects, gardening, and watching the changing seasons. Larry loved his desserts. He made sure to read the bible every day and pray daily. He enjoyed listening to gospel music in his free time. He attended Grace Evangelical Free Church in Mason City.

Larry loved his family most. Family time was very important to him, especially around the holidays. He loved watching his children and grandchildren grow up.

Larry is survived by his sons Tim (Carolyn) Boots of Metairie, LA and Jeff (Sarah) Boots of Apple Valley, MN; and 5 grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen and parents Elvon and Hilda.
