LaVerne C. 'Bud' Kittleson

LaVerne C. “Bud” Kittleson, 88, of Mason City, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at home. No services are planned at this time. As per Bud’s wishes, his body will be cremated. Bud was born April 14, 1924 in Mason City the son of Clarence and Clara (Elstad) Kittleson. He graduated from Mason City High School. Bud enlisted in the US Army during WW II and would later enlist in the US Navy during the Korean War. Bud worked for the Federal Government in the Soil & Water Conservation Department for 30 years. He retired in 1979. Bud is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kittleson of Mason City; son, Mark (Roylene) Kittleson of Nora Springs, daughter, Dr. Judy (Richard) Severson of Wilson, Michigan, step-daughter, Lynette (Larry) Sherer of Maxwell, Iowa, step-son, John (Linda) Shook of Rapid City, South Dakota, step-son, Sherman Richard (Becky) Shook of Slater, Iowa, step-daughter, Heidi (Ron) Lusson of Crystal Lake, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Grell of Northwood and Beverly Sturges of Florida; brother, Alfred Kittleson of Delmar, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Nels; 3 sisters, Carrie, Evelyn, and Lorraine
