Leland Pearl Cory

ST. PAUL, MN ? Leland Pearl Cory, 86 a kind and gentle man went to be with his Savior on December 14, 2005 at the Bethel Care Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1301 North Carolina Avenue with Rev. Clyde W. Harvey officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veteran?s Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the First Assembly of God Church. Leland Pearl Cory was born September 4, 1919 the son of John William and Ora (Voorhies) Cory in Dotson, Montana. Leland enlisted in the United States Army in Fort Dodge. He served from 1943 to 1945 and was honorably discharged in October of 1945 from Randolph Field in San Antonio, Texas achieving the rank of Private First Class. Leland was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion in Mason City. He worked for Armour?s for 29 years and retired on August 22, 1975. Leland enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage and cards. Leland is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Cory, mother, Ora (Voorhies) Cory, brothers and sisters: Wendell Cory, Wilda Cory, Lonnie Cory, Orrin Cory and Audrey (Cory) Hanig.
