Lester F. Nuehring

Lester F. Nuehring, 90, of Mason City, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM ? 7:00 PM Friday (April 27, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Memorials may be given to the Lester F. Nuehring Memorial Fund. Lester F. Nuehring was born February 17, 1917 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of William F. and Ida (Schwichtenberg) Nuehring. Lester attended the Country School Hancock County and moved to Rockwell, Iowa in 1927. On November 27, 1941 Lester was united in marriage to Marjory Anderson in Mason City. He enjoyed gardening and was a lifelong farmer of both agriculture and livestock. Lester was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rockwell, Iowa Lester is survived by his wife; Marjory Nuehring of Mason City; children, Linda Jacobsen and husband Dale of Beardstown, Illinois, Marlys Nuehring and special friend Jim Lamfers of Alexander, Iowa, Marlene Nuehring of Mason City, Iowa, Ronald Johnson and wife Jody of Mason City, Iowa, Dennis Johnson and wife Cobina of Mason City, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Hilda Hodge of Mason City, Iowa. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Alvin and Elmer Nuehring; 4 sisters, Elsie Peterson, Irene Stowe, Janet Angell, Evelyn Johnson; one grandson, Brian Jacobsen.
