Lloyd D. Lunning, 78 of Mason City, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with the Pastor Kent Mechler Chaplain- Good Shepherd Health Center officiating. Upon Lloyds wishes he was cremated and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Clear Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Lloyd D. Lunning memorial fund in care of the family.\r\n
Lloyd was born January 17, 1932 in Rowan, Iowa the son of Henry and Ida Marie (Wildason) Lunning. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for a period of time, he then went to work for Winnebago for 24 years until his retirement. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.\r\n
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Betty L. Hanson of Mason City; step-son, Duane Hanson and wife Toni of Osage; grandchildren, Chris (Katie) Avis, Mark (Amber) Hanson, Amy Hanson, Samantha Hanson and Jesse Lowder; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Elizabeth and Haylee; sister-in-law, Anola Lunning and many nieces and nephews.\r\n
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marion, Virgil and Alvin Lunning and sister, Fern Thompson.
Memorials:
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Lloyd D. Lunning memorial fund in care of the family.
Cemetery:
Inurnment will be held at a later date in Clear Lake Cemetery.
Visitation:
