Lois A. Heinzerling, 84, of Mason City, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Dan Gerrietts officiating. Interment will be in Eden Presbyterian Cemetery, Rudd, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before services on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the Van Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Lois was born April 30, 1932 in Charles City, Iowa the daughter of Lloyd and Ida (Nicholson) Brandau. She graduated from Rudd High School. Throughout her life, Lois lived in rural Rudd, Osage, Decorah, Elkhart, Indiana and Charles City. In Charles City, Lois managed the Subway Sandwich Shop retiring in 2006. That same year, she moved to Mason City to be closer to family. Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A few of her interests included sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, bingo and bonanza Bill.
Lois is survived by her children, Patrick Heinzerling of Dallas, Texas, Michael Heinzerling of Farmington, Minnesota, Kathleen (Edward) Dobrynski of Mason City, Robert (Leanne) Heinzerling of Mason City, William (Joan) Heinzerling of St. Charles, Illinois and Kenneth (Jennifer) Heinzerling of Cedar Rapids; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lyn (Victor) Lapierre of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Carol (Frederick) Lapierre of Elkhart, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Jessica; 1 sister, Shirley and 2 brothers, Donald and Roger.
