Madrid, Iowa - Lois Elloise Robertson, age 94, of Madrid, IA, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at the Madrid Home in Madrid, IA. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Paul Collier of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the Madrid Homes or the First Presbyterian Church, Mason City, or the White Oak United Presbyterian Church in Keswick, IA .\r\n
Lois was born August 30, 1915, in Prairie Township, IA, the daughter of Edward and Cressie (Griggs) Holland. She graduated from Thornburg High School in 1932. She was married to Glenn A. Robertson on June 20, 1936 in Grinnell, IA. In the early part of their marriage they farmed near Gibson and later moved to Oskaloosa where Glenn worked for Sears Robuck in sales. They subsequently moved to Plymouth, Iowa in 1966 when he became the manager of the Plymouth Cooperative elevator. They later moved to Madrid, IA in 2002 where she had resided until her passing. \r\n
Lois enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed doing things for her family, especially baking, making quilts and also other hand work. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mason City since 1980, the Rebecca Circle, and also past member of Kings Daughters in Oskaloosa. She was guided throughout her life by her faith in God. Of all of her accomplishments, Lois was most proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.\r\n
Lois is survived by her children, Ron Robertson and wife Vi of Urbandale, IA, Rhonda Eickman and husband, John of Hopewell Junction, NY; grandchildren, Darin Robertson of Urbandale, IA, Todd Robertson of Davenport, IA, and Amanda Eickman of Hopewell, Junction, NY; one great granddaughter, Taylor Robertson, Davenport, IA; and brother, David M. Holland of Oskaloosa, IA.\r\n
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Glenn; sister, Zelma Musgrove
