Lois R. Hubbard, 98, of Mason City, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Chuck Kelsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Lois was born June 9, 1918 the daughter of C. Edmund and Marion (Aitchison) Ransom in rural Mason City. She attended rural Cerro Gordo country schools and later graduated from Mason City High School in the class of 1935.
On October 12, 1935 Lois was united in marriage to Lynn A. Hubbard at her grandparents home, Charles and Elmira Ransom. To this union Janet and Max were born.
Lois worked at Montgomery Ward from 1956 until 1972 when she took a job at the Park Clinic working there until her retirement December 14, 1979.
She enjoyed being with family and friends, listening and playing music, crocheting, reading and going camping.
Lois is survived by her children Janet (John) McBride, Max (Carolyn) Hubbard, five grandchildren, Lynn (Betty Jean “BJ”) Brockett, Laura (John) Farell, Fawn (Stan) Hansen, Steve (Lori) Hubbard, Paul (Stacey) Hubbard, brother, Keith (June) Ransom, sister, Ruth Norris, sister in law, Lois Fulghum, 15 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, 1 great great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lynn in 2004, brother and sister in law, Donald (Lucy) Ransom, two brothers in law, Charles Norris and Russell Fulghum.
