Luwarren ?Bud? Luick, 70, of Mason City, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in Parker, Arizona. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (December 20, 2006) at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, 508 2nd Ave. N., with Rev. Diana Hoover officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 ? 8 PM Tuesday (December 19, 2006) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Memorials may be directed to Opportunity Village, Clear Lake or the TRACES Museum, 75 West 5th St. Suite 211 St. Paul, MN 55102. Bud Luick was born February 13, 1936 in Rockwell, IA, the son of Donald G. and Charlotte (Juhl) Luick. He graduated from Thornton High School in 1953. He married Phyllis Thrams on March 7, 1954 in Mason City; to this union three children were born. Bud and Phyllis farmed in rural Mason City for over forty years. He retired from Armour?s in 1999. Bud was known for his passion of horses, which he raised on his farm, along with registered Golden Retriever dogs. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring antique tractors and participating on numerous tractor rides in the area. He served on the board for the Burchinal Co-oP and was an active member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church. Bud loved spending time with his family and was a devoted husband and grandfather. He enjoyed camping and also wintering in Arizona with his wife, Phyllis. Bud is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Debra Wass and husband Gerald of Denver, IA, David Luick and wife Sherri of Lakeville, MN, Michael Luick-Thrams of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Jared Wass and wife Amy of Ames, IA, Ian Wass and wife Jessica of Waterloo, Jamin Wass of Lake Forest, CA, Dena and Paige Luick of Lakeville, MN; great grandchid, Josiah Wass; sisters, Mardelle Sorensen and husband Charles of Clear Lake, Sherryl Koob of Vermillion, SD and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Charlotte Luick and his sister Lorraine Jones. Funeral Arrangements are with Major-Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory. (641)- 423-0924.
