Lydia Katherine Elizabeth Grekoff, 84, of Mason City, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 North Delaware, with Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating. Visitation will be from PM 5:00 PM 7:00 PM Monday, September 22, 2008 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lydia Grekoff memorial fund. Lydia was born December 10, 1923 in Mason City, the daughter of Daniel and Katherine (Senner) Schultz. She graduated from Mason City High School. On June 6, 1948, she married George Grekoff in Mason City. She worked as a Sales Clerk for J.C. Penny Co. for more than 15 years. Lydia was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was a Ladies Aide. She also belonged to other church groups as well. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband. Lydia is survived by her husband George of Mason City and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: David Schultz; two sisters in infancy both named Mary.
