Margaret Joan Wander, 70, of 302 2nd St. NE, died Tuesday (March 18, 2003) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. James Grabitske, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and continue Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Margaret Wander Memorial Fund. Margaret was born December 13, 1932 in Mason City the daughter of Lynn and Orabelle (St. Peter) Morse. She graduated from Mason City High School. Margaret married Gene E. Wander November 14, 1959 in Mason City. She worked at SS Kresge?s, Ristau as well as along with her husband in the family trucking business. Her last employment was with the Wheel Inn Truck Stop, North of Mason City. In the 1970?s, Margaret was known as the Wander Women on the CB radio. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked wedding receptions and showers and enjoyed having coffee with her friends and family. She also enjoyed rummage sales and stock car racing. Her greatest joys where her children, grandchildren and host of friends. Margaret is survived by her children; John P. ?Jack? Wander and wife Sharon of Elmore, MN, Allen G. Wander of Mason City, Lynn M. Hedrick and husband Dan of Plymouth, Kent E. Wander and wife Lori of Mason City, Step-brother; Gary Morse and wife Sharon of Ladysmith, WI, Grandchildren; Travis, Nathan, Jared, Ashley, Adam, Amber, Desiree and Sabre Wander, Dusty and Lissa Hedrick Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene in 1977, brother, Robert Morse, Grandchildren, Janice Margaret Wander and Nicholas Wander.
