Margaret Lucille Schultz, 81, of Mason City, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 16, 2012, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th Street S.E., with Pastor Paul Nelson and Pastor Jeni Bohls officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday (April 15, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, and continue one hour prior to the church service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Margaret Schultz memorial fund in care of the family. Margaret was born June 11, 1930, in Mitchell, IA, the daughter of Albert and Olga (Feldt) Eidness. She graduated from Osage High School in 1948. On May 13, 1967, Margaret married Fred C. Schultz in Osage. The couple moved to Mason City in 1968. Margaret worked for Libby Owens Ford for 23 ½ years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed helping with bake sales, crafts, and altar guild. She was also a member of the VFW – Women’s Auxiliary. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards “500”, reading, supporting the Democratic Party, and spending time with her friends – including her “picnic table traditions”. Margaret is survived by her husband of 44 years: Fred Schultz of Mason City; her children: Connie Watson and husband Gordon of Woodland, WA, Eva Sheriff and husband Jay of Sheffield, IA, Blair Naber of Woodland, WA, and Julia Linahon and husband Daniel of Mason City; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer Solid, Jeffrey Judge, Jamie Sheriff, Levi Sheriff, Brytni and Sarenity Naber, Nicholas, Emilee, Jacob, and Alex Linahon; 5 great grandchildren; 1 step-daughter: Karla Brown and husband Todd of Charles City; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law: Lois Eidness of Osage. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Duane and Dean Eidness; a brother and sister in infancy; and a grandson.
