Marie E. (Lotts) Chapdelaine

Marie E. (Lotts) Chapdelaine, 95, of Mason City, entered the gates of heaven on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the IOOF Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 302 5th Street S.E. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with a Scriptural Wake Service at 6:30 PM, on Wednesday (September 5, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Marie Chapdelaine memorial fund in care of the family. Marie was born February 17, 1917, in Mason City, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Huinker) Cota. She was a lifelong resident of Mason City. Marie graduated from Mason City High School in 1935. On June 7, 1940, she married the love of her life – Wendell Lotts. In June of 1971, Marie married George Chapdelaine. Marie was always clear about the love she had for her family. Second to that was her love of piano, art, sewing and her rose garden. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Vivian Lotts of Los Angeles, Susan Lotts of Mason City, and Paul (Jeri) Lotts of The Woodlands, TX; daughter-in-law: Sharon Lotts of Minneapolis, MN; brother: Louis Cota of Mason City; seven grandchildren: Eugene Jr. (Julie), Scott (Lisa), Garth, Heather (Jim) Lemke, Jenna, Jennifer, and Michael; seven great grandchildren: Anna, Emily, Ian, Ella, Alex, Eva, and Everett. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Wendell on June 8, 1967, and George on February 18, 1979; son: Eugene on April 5, 2010; her parents; two brothers: Eugene and Paul.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery
