Marjorie L. Marge" Kundert

Marjorie L. ?Marge? Kundert, 91, of 17396 Kingbird Avenue, died Saturday (September 20, 2003) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. James M. Magelssen officiating. Her body was donated to the University of Osteopathic College, Des Moines, Iowa. Interment will take place in Concordia Cemetery, rural Joice, at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be given to the Marjorie L. Kundert Memorial Fund. Marge was born February 13, 1912 in Hannaford, ND the daughter of Nels and Thea (Kittleson) Brunsvold. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1928 then attended Cedar Falls Teachers College, UNI. Marge served in the US Navy during WWII receiving her honorable discharge in 1945. She married Donald M. Kundert December 26, 1948 in Nashua. She taught school in Laurel, Floyd, Clear Lake and at St. Joseph?s Catholic School for many years retiring in 1969. Marge was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, church circle, Universal Study Club, Women?s Club, card clubs and Sons of Norway. Marge is survived by a step-son; Donald R. Kundert and wife Patricia of Junction, TX, sons; Craig B. Kundert and wife Susan of Mason City, Michael J. Kundert and wife Mary of Iowa City, John P. Kundert and wife Mary Beth of St. Paul, MN, 4 step-grandchildren; Kirt, Kevin, Kimberly and Kathleen, 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Peter and Hanna, 12 great grandchildren. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; Erling, sisters; Norma, Hazel and Nora in infancy.
